What would a family visit be without a little drama?

We are thoroughly enjoying Jay's family being here this week, and we seem to be trying to continue the family tradition of one of the grandkids ending up in either the hospital or some urgent treatment center each time we convene together. This trip landed Abby in urgent treatment tonight with a split-open knee that just wouldn't stop bleeding. We also figured out that she has a habit of scratching every inch of her body and clearing her throat over and over when she is nervous. No stitches needed...meaning a sigh of relief from the scratchy one when she was told that she didn't need a shot. All she needed was a sticky somethingoranother holding her split-open knee together from a doctor who obviously failed "Bedside Manner 101" at that back-alley med school he went to. She is walking with a sympathy limp now and milking this war wound for whatever it is worth. Nathan received the latest and greatest in trendy gear for 4 month olds today: an apnea monitor. Not for apnea, but for the continuous monitoring of his heart vs. breathing to help determine why he decides to freak everyone around out by turning blue from time to time. He did it again at therapy last week, and that little episode set off a train of phone calls that landed us a month's visit from this cumbersome monitor. So far, it has only gone off once for a high heart-rate triggered by what was described as an intense tantrum...I wouldn't know...I was at urgent care with oldest child.

Keep the little dude in your prayers tomorrow. He has another visit with the neurologist.

Abby has all of Sam's sympathy for mean, scary people at the urgent care center from his broken elbow visit! Sure, the urgent care place is a great alternative to the ER, but people!

Pryaing for Nathan to today, and a boring rest of the Ferrell visit!

We try to save our drama for the holidays, mainly Christmas or birthdays. It really makes them memorable!

Tell Abby and your family sorry. You have spent a lot of time in doctor's offices this year. Both pictures were very cute.
