We live in a quaint little college town...one that is hoppin' during the school year and nice and quiet in the summer. One that has pretty much everything we need within a few miles of our doorstep, yet isn't big enough to have many traffic issues (except on game days, of course). It's really a great place to raise a family...a place we have thoroughly enjoyed living for the past 6+ years.
A little over a year ago, something new caught the attention of many inhabitants of our city. A new and vibrant family magazine tailored to those living in our county...full of fun articles, great information, and amazing pictures. It was an instant hit! Fresh. New. Perfect for young families in our city...with a fun name to boot:
One of the great things about this local magazine is that they showcase a "Charity of the Month" with each issue. What a great way to bring awareness for the charities aiding members in our community! I contacted them a few months ago with information about the UMDF and Nathan, but I didn't really expect further correspondence. You can imagine my delight and surprise when I received an email from a write for Giggle on the night Nathan and I returned from our latest trip to Houston. Within a few short days, the writer came and interviewed us, and we later had a photo shoot with the extremely talented Laurel Housden with Laurel Housden Photography, who often shoots for the articles in the magazine.
The June/July issue of the magazine came out today and can be viewed by clicking here.
Scroll to page 8 for the article on UMDF and Nathan's battle with mitochondrial disease. We are very happy with the well written article and hope that this helps to bring awareness of this disease and UMDF's mission to help those fighting against this beast!
Oh, and also scroll to page 20 and you will see one of Abby's best friends (Andrew) with his dad and brother in the Father's Day section.
