I am looking forward to posting about the girls and the races they have recently participated in the past month, but I wanted to make sure to post pictures from the little guy's 4th birthday party as well...
The girls woke him up on that Friday morning by singing the "Happy Birthday" song to him. It was such a fun day. He went to therapy that morning and received a special birthday gift from his physical therapist, whom he loves so very much, and the rest of the day was devoted to the little guy. He ate pizza for dinner...well, actually, he ate none of the pizza because he filled up on the butter rolls that came as an appetizer. We couldn't believe how many rolls he ate (which has since been a more common phrase between all of us...we can't believe how much he is eating some days! Its truly remarkable how well he is eating and putting on weight right now.)
The next afternoon, we had a little birthday party for the little dude at a local park. Through an organization called Icing Smiles, who contacted a local baker (Ms. Debbie's Sugar Art), Nate had an amazing super hero cake for his birthday. I wish I would have captured the smiles of the little guy's face when he saw the cake. This year has definitely been a super hero kind of year for the fella, both in how much he has loved getting into the superhero characters and how much he has faced on a medical front. The cake was absolutely perfect and delicious, and we are so thankful for Icing Smiles and Ms. Debbie for providing this incredible opportunity for our little super hero.
It was all around an incredible weekend. Its hard to believe that my baby boy is 4. My, what a road it has been. And my, oh how thankful we are to celebrate his life and his wonderful health at this time! The Lord continues to bless abundantly through and in Nate's little life.
